Air Fried Cauliflower Manchurian

Air Fried Cauliflower Manchuria. Crispy air-fried cauliflower florets are dipped in a spicy and delicious Manchurian sauce. This guilt-free Indo-Chinese dish is served dry as an appetizer and as a gravy entree. Super easy and finger-licking delicious, this dish is vegan and kid-approved.

INGREDIENTS

8 Big Cauliflower Blossoms
4 tablespoons of cornstarch
¼ teaspoon of Garlic Powder
¼ teaspoon Salt
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Water for boiling cauliflower florets.
1 teaspoon scrub oil/oil spray

For Manchurian Sauce

1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon minced ginger
1 tablespoon Chopped Green Pepper (Optional)
¼ Cup Chopped Green Onions
¼ cup Coriander leaves
½ cup Roasted peppers or green peppers
2 tablespoons Dark Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
1 tablespoon of Red Pepper Sauce
A pinch of brown sugar
pinch of salt
1 Glass of Water (if you are going to make sauce) Do not add if you are going to make dried Manchurian.
1 teaspoon Corn Starch
½ cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon Avocado oil/oil of your choice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Take a pan and boil the water. Add a pinch of salt to it.
  2. Boil the cauliflower florets until they are fifty or half cooked. Note that we need firm flowers.
  3. Remove them on a paper towel and pat dry with another towel.
  4. Sprinkle a tablespoon of cornstarch over the flowers.
  5. Mix another 3 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1.5 tablespoons of water, garlic powder, a pinch of salt and red pepper flakes. Coat the flowers with this cornstarch wet mixture. Do it with the help of your fingers. This will be your second coating (1st dry cornmeal sprinkling). For now, place all the flowers on the wire rack.
  6. Preheat the fryer at 370 F for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Spray the air fryer with a spray of oil.
  8. Place all eight cauliflower florets in the fryer basket.
  9. Spray them with spray oil.
  10. Air-fry the cauliflower florets at 370 F for 7 minutes, flipping each side.
  11. It will take about 14 minutes for the flowers to cook. You can increase or decrease the time according to the size of your flowers. I kept mine big and natural.
  12. Remove once they are all crispy and golden.



how to make sauce

  • Get a wok / Pan.
  • Add oil to it.
  • Heat it up and add chopped garlic, ginger and green pepper to it.
  • Saute for 30 seconds and add chopped bell peppers, scallions, onions and chopped coriander leaves.
  • After adding all the sauces, mix them in the pan/wok.
  • If you’re making dry manchurian, add crispy cauliflower at this point.
  • Add salt and sugar and finish by sprinkling some green onion garnish.
  • If you are making Manchurian sauce, add cornstarch, salt and sugar mixture water to the sauce instead of cauliflower.
  • Let it cook on high heat for 1 minute.
  • Now add crispy cauliflower florets on top.
  • Cover the cauliflower florets with the sauce. Garnish with green onions and serve.
  • Enjoy.
