Here’s a recipe for Vegan Apple Strudel:

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of vegan phyllo dough
  • 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough on a clean work surface and brush it with melted vegan butter. Sprinkle some bread crumbs over the butter.
  4. Place another sheet of phyllo dough on top and repeat the butter and bread crumbs layers.
  5. Repeat this process until you have used all the phyllo dough sheets.
  6. Spoon the apple mixture in a line along the shorter edge of the phyllo dough, leaving a small border at the top and bottom edges.
  7. Roll the dough up, tucking in the edges as you go, to create a long tube. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the top of the roll with melted vegan butter.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the phyllo dough is golden brown and crispy.
  10. Let the strudel cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar.
  11. Slice and serve.
