Sliced sweet Vidalia onions are sauteed with olive oil and minced garlic in a cast iron pot.
Reduce the onions.
Then I add some flour and dried thyme.
Cook a little. Then as it boils I add broth (I always use broth which is kitchen basics)
I add some Maggie seasoning, red wine, VEGETA seasoning, some sugar to taste, black pepper.
